Vehicles in Bulgaria - Headlights
November 5, 2008The U.S. Embassy would like to make Americans in Bulgaria aware that beginning November 1, all vehicles in Bulgaria must have their headlights on at all times while driving, day or night. This law is effective from November 1 until March 1. Any driver discovered driving a car without the headlights on may be fined a minimum of 20 leva by a police officer.

Americans living or traveling in Bulgaria are also encouraged to register with the U.S. Embassy through the State Department’s travel registration web site at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/, to obtain updated information on travel and security within Bulgaria.
