Passport Renewal

U.S. citizens who need a new passport and who:

  • Can submit their most recent passport;
  • Were at least 16 years old when their most recent passport was issued;
  • Whose most recent passport was issued no more than 15 years ago;
  • Use the same name as on their most recent passport; OR
  • Have had their name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect the name change, should apply at the Consular Section. 

They must submit the following:

  • Their most recent passport;
  • Two recent identical photographs (not older than six months)
  • Fees: 75 U.S. dollars (payable in dollars or Bulgarian leva, cash only).

Application may be submitted by a third party, as far as the application form has been filled out beforehand and the applicant has personally signed it.
