California State Fullerton Guitar Orchestra Gives Concert at the U.S. Embassy in Sofia
On June 25th, the Fullerton Guitar Orchestra performed a concert at the American Embassy in Sofia. The 17-member guitar orchestra is made up of students from California State University in Fullerton, California. The group under the direction of David Grimes, performed in Sofia on June 21 at Bulgaria Hall as part of Sofia Music Weeks. During their three weeks in Bulgaria, the orchestra also performed in the cities of Ruse, Varna, Dobrich, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, and Kazanlak. The Fullerton Guitar Orchestra is an elite performing ensemble and specializes in works composed specifically for guitar orchestras. They perform frequently along the West Coast of the United States, but have also toured Hawaii and Greece.
