U.S. and EU Form Partnership on Organic Products

On February 15, 2012, the United States and the European Union announced that beginning June 1, 2012, organic products certified in one market can be sold as organic in the other market. This partnership between the two largest organic-producing markets in the world will do much to promote organic programs, protect organic standards, and facilitate trade in organic products. This partnership also boosts farms and businesses on both sides of the Atlantic. Europeans and Americans will have access to a wider range of organic suppliers, making it easier to include more certified organic foods as part of their daily diets.
