For Immediate Release
May 14, 2008
U.S. Army Contracting Command Europe has awarded a two-year $6.5 million contract for the Temporary Forward Operating Site (TFOS) at Novo Selo Training Area to Field Camp Services (FCS), a company headquartered in Germany. FCS plans to use the Sofia-based company Global RTS as its prime subcontractor in the contract.
The contract for the TFOS will provide temporary facilities to be used in this summer's joint training at Novo Selo Training Area. The work will include the temporary construction of a tent camp that will include areas for housing soldiers, administrative, operational, maintenance, storage, dining, and medical facilities. Supporting facilities include anti-terrorism measures such as perimeter fenced access control points. Work on the contract will begin immediately and will be completed by July 15.
The U.S. Army has allocated approximately $60 million for construction of permanent facilities at Novo Selo, with the intention of contracting with Bulgarian companies to the maximum extent possible under current U.S. contracting regulations and laws. Information about contracting opportunities related to this construction and other future procurements is available at the Federal Business Opportunities webpage, also known as FedBizOpps. All vendors will be selected through a competitive and open process.
